With 2.2 million people incarcerated in the United States, and an addition 4.4 million on probation or parole, there is no shortage of people who are fighting for their freedom. At VOTE, our network includes not only formerly incarcerated people and their families, but people who are still on the inside, too. One of the ways we stay accountable to fighting for the full restoration of our rights is by helping those with upcoming parole or pardon dates advocate for their release. Between July 18 and August 26, five women in our network who are currently incarcerated have hearings. In other words, they have a chance to walk free, and we want to help make that happen. Please download, print, and mail the postcards for each woman urging the Louisiana Parole Board to release them, all of who have left behind family as they’ve sat behind bars for more than 20 years. Can’t print them on your own? Come to our next New Orleans monthly meeting, where we'll have pre-stamped cards for you to sign. Spread the word! Click the links below to download the cards. There are four per page.
